Wang Xiaofang, a local villager, established the Baiyanhe Homestay Inn at the entrance of the village. She said, “The homestay inn started soft opening last year. At that time, there were only six rooms, and they were in short supply. So this year, I have added two large suites, and wish surrounding villagers to join the homestay inn industry.”

Manual weeding is implemented throughout the year and specialized organic fertilizers for tea leaves are used during the cultivation process, without pesticides.
Xiangxi Bairun Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. has been established in the village, which is a provincial-level demonstration farmers’ cooperative. Xiang Jinmei, head of the company, said, “The company has a tea plantation area of 10,000 mu (about 666.67 hectares), and has established a deep interest linkage mechanism with more than 3,000 tea farmers in four surrounding villages to jointly develop the tea industry. The annual output value has reached more than 15 million yuan.”
In the next step, the company will continue efforts to expand the international market, and promote Guzhang Maojian Tea through important exhibitions and tea events at home and abroad, in a bid to help Guzhang County’s tea industry to go global.
